Instruction Offered
- Flute, piccolo and guitar, individual or group. Emphasis on the gradual development of technique and musical expression as complementary vehicles for the improvement of artistic performance. Use of both classical and popular music. Students are encouraged to:
- gain experience in performing through participation in contests and recitals.
- develop their sense of teamwork by playing in duets, trios and, occasionally, larger groups.
Biographic Information (full CV)
- Elementary composition, using Finale notation software. Students will learn how to give their musical creations a professional look.
- Music at schools, part-time. Introduction to various musical instruments and styles. Emphasis on learning to read music and on the "hands-on" involvement of all pupils, using whatever skills and instruments may be available.
- Cuban traditional music (short course). Learn about the origins of the cha-cha-cha, bolero, and other examples of Cuba’s immense contribution to Latin American music. Hear recordings by the top stars of each style and also “live” performances on the flute and guitar.
